In the spirit of promoting jazz development, BET's Jazz Discovery is the only nationally televised show that spotlights emerging jazz talent. Judged by a panel of leading jazz personalities, artists vie for the opportunity to be featured on an entire program dedicated to their own performance. Eve Cornelious competed against some of the finest new artists in the field, and emerged as the Jazz Discovery Vocalist of the Year.

Backed by the Chip Crawford Trio, Eve and the group spent an exciting weekend taping the show. Jazz fans as well as gifted performers, they count among the highlights hanging out with Ella Fitzgerald's longtime bassist, Keeter Betts. Despite a record snowstorm that paralyzed the DC area and rendered the usually-full studio empty, they played an inspired, passionate set that is still rotated heavily on BET Jazz: The Cable Jazz Channel.11
